Meet Derrick Sjodin
Derrick Sjodin welcomes adventure on a daily basis as a husband and father of 5. An avid skier, he spent 20 years in Colorado before relocating to the Upstate and falling in love with the beauty and history of the local rivers..
Derrick started SUP State with the goal of sharing his passion for the river and spreading his love for the paddleboarding to residents and visitors of Greenville, SC and the Upstate area.
With ACA certifications as a SUP instructor and in Swift Water Rescue, as well as Wilderness First Aid and CPR, Derrick hopes his tour offerings, classes, and SUP gear rental options can help people of all ages connect with the outdoors while learning how to be safe, effective paddlers.
